PKS Student Taylor M is off to Germany!

Taylor M.  Will be representing Canada as a member of the Canadian Tap Team and will be travelling to Germany to compete against tap teams from around the world next week!

Taylor auditioned and was selected as a team member earlier this fall.  She has been rehearsing with the team for a couple of months now and they are ready to go.

Good luck Taylor! We are so proud of you!

PKS Grad & Faculty member dances in his 1st professional show with Toronto Dance Theatre this weekend!

This summer, Darren Strong was hired as the only male apprentice with the Toronto Dance Theatre for the 2014/15 season.  He will be performing this weekend at the Fleck Theatre at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto.  For more information and to purchase tickets visit Toronto Dance Theatre's website!  We are so proud of Darren and congratulate him on his great success!

Congratulations to Miss Liz!

Congratulations to Miss Liz who is currently away getting married in Paris, France.  


Covering her classes for the next 2 Wednesday nights,  we are pleased to announce Miss Natasha Gibson will be join us.  

Miss Nash Gibson


Natasha (Nash) Gibson has extensive training in Tap, Jazz, Stylized Jazz, Hip Hop, and Ballet for over 26 years. She was a graduate from the George Randolph School Of The Arts in Toronto in 1995 and has since then worked closely with such people as Gregory Hines, Ian Thomas, Whoopi Goldberg, Liberty Silver, Glass Tiger, Ian Thomas, Tony Vagg, Roxanne Butterfly, Brian Foley and Savion Glover, to name a few. Nash has performed in such musicals as West Side Story, and spent 2 years traveling as an original member of the Next Step Canadian Tap Crew. Students who have trained extensively with Nash have gone on to perform with such artists as Aaron Carter, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson and Madonna. Her teaching, performance, choreography, and adjudicating skills have placed her in demand all over the world as far east as Bosnia, and as far north as the Arctic Circle.  Miss Nash has been a tap faculty member of the College Program at the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts since 2009.

Miss Jessica Horn

Jessica is an accomplished performer and teacher. She is a musical theatre graduate from the Randolph Academy, a former Miss Dance of Canada and a member of the Professional Adjudicator’s Alliance. She has judged, taught and sat on audition panels throughout Canada, including the  casting team for the North American debut of the musical Dirty Dancing. Jessica’s performance career includes over a dozen musicals, cruise ships, dance companies and performances across North America, Scandinavia and China. She has performed with such artists as, Carly Rae Jepsen, Fefe Dobson, Suzie McNeil, Kreesha Turner, Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock, C&C Music Factory and Eric McCormick. Favourite theatre credits include: the North American Tour of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels; 42nd Street and Much Ado About Nothing at The Stratford Festival; the world premier of Dance Legends; West Side Story; Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; Sweet Charity; Evita and contracts with Helix Dance Project and D’Neuve Contemporary Dance Theatre. Currently Jessica can be seen “kicking her knees up,” in the inaugural production of Mary Poppins at the brand new Dunfield Theatre. Jessica’s film and television credits include, Ghostly Encounters, Hearts of War, Killing Zelda Sparks and Repo! The Genetic Opera starring Paris Hilton.  As a young competitor Jessica’s love for dance began on the stage, and she aims to encourage all dancers by guiding them with constructive criticism to help better themselves, as well rounded performers.

Many Amazing Moments

I haven't done a very good job over the past couple of months keeping everyone up to date with the successes of our students.  I have been so busy with classes and preparing for competition that the focus was on the kids.  We are so proud of all of the achievements our students have made and are excited to share them with you!

Here is a few of the amazing things that have happened in the past few months:


Jaiden G and Caitlyn M joined Tina Hruska and performed for a Zumba fundraiser 



PKS students joined Matthew James for two performances of Dalmatia: The Musical Firefighter.  The first performance was at the Regent Theatre in Oshawa and money was raised for Lakeridge Health's Pediatrics Unit.  Our dancers helped to raise $3000 for the hospital.  They were also recognized by Parliament for their work in the community.  Each performer received an scroll from Colin Carrie MP.  The second performance was held in Uxbridge and raised money for Kawartha Volunteer Fire Fighters Association.  Our dancers helped to raise $800 for the Association.


Ciara G-F was awarded a VIP Runner Up Scholarship at JUMP dance convention in Pittsburgh.  This is a full scholarship to attend The Dance Awards in New York This summer as well as a partial scholarship to attend a convention in LA


Caitlyn M was awarded a class scholarship in Jazz at JUMP Dance Convention in Pittsburgh.  Caitlyn received a partial scholarship to attend a convention in LA.

PKS students are taking television by storm!

Congratulations to Mia P
Who will be appearing in the borrow film ABC's of Death.  Here is a little about the film:

The ABS's of Death was a wildly successful 2012 American horror/comedy anthology produced by Ant Timpson and Tim League.  It contains 26 different shorts each by different directors spanning fifteen countries.  It premiered at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival and is returning for a second anthology with the ABC's of Death 2.
